So do I! If we're not at a quilt show coming to your town soon, or if you're unable to visit us here at the mercantile, I invite you to take advantage of our online shopping. Or perhaps you want more of the beautiful hand dyed, sueded cotton you bought at our booth.

You can order Liberty Homestead Quilt Books, Patterns, and Kits, as well as our own Hand Dyed Sueded Cotton right from your home.

We offer secure credit card payments, as well as PayPal, and your order will be quickly shipped to your sewing room. (Unless we're at a quilt show! Check out our show schedule when ordering.) Feel free to email me with any questions you have about my designs or fabrics. I love to get e-mail!

Liberty Homestean Quilts

Liberty Homestead Mercantile

Welcome To The
LIBERTY HOMESTEAD MERCANTILE

Fun Fact: Did you know that the Liberty Homestead Mercantile is not only a quilt shop featuring all our kits, books, patterns, and hand dyed cottons - and more - but that we’re also an antique shop? We specialize in American antiques from vintage to the way back. At normal times we keep pretty restricted hours here. At this not-so-normal time we are observing all the suggestions given for personal safety concerning current health issues. Since we will remain closed for now, one way to keep going is to share more of our treasures on line.

We’ve had an on-line presence thru Etsy for some time - LibertyHomesteadShop. Now we’ve decided to integrate this a little more with this site. Now and then we’ll get some pictures up on this page for vintage and antique items from the shop that are currently for sale on Etsy. These are one of a kind items – they come and go! If you don’t see the item on Etsy, drop me an email – libertyhomesteadmail@gmail.com. I can check to see if it’s already sold!

We will continue to add pictures here as time permits. For now have fun browsing & shopping, and check back often! And thank you for virtually visiting us here at the Homestead!

Stay Safe,
Glenda

Do you remember a few years back my fun little wall quilts that featured antique postcards reproduced on fabric? Unfortunately the company that made these fabric postcards for us is no longer in business. So I’m listing my sample quilts for sale on Etsy – LibertyHomesteadShop. If you didn’t get the kit you wanted to make one of these special little wall quilts, now you can get it already made for you! Good News/Bad News kind of thing!

Here’s another grouping of one of my favorite collectibles – Shawnee Pottery. The design for these pieces is called “Snowflake” and they’re all in shades of Shawnee’s beautiful Turquoise color. This photo shows the cookie jar, a teapot, creamer & sugar, small pitcher, and grease jar. Grease? I can think of many things I’d rather put in this cute little covered dish! I can also see the little pitcher or the tea pot filled with fresh flowers on the kitchen table. There are so many uses for these traditionally kitchen items but I’m just going to say that the cookie jar needs to have cookies in it! Click to visit our Etsy Shop!

What’s more classic than a grouping of white pottery? Add to that the traditional beauty of American pottery from the Shawnee Pottery company. Now that’s pretty! This collection includes the white tea pot with navy blue accents, an all white flower vase, and two sets of salt & pepper shakers. The little shakers – farmer pigs (because why not?) and wheelbarrows continue the white & navy blue theme. I have quite an extensive collection of original Shawnee pottery in the shop and will continue to list pieces on our Etsy Shop.

I have a great collection of vintage dinnerware here at the Mercantile from the Universal Pottery Co. out of Cambridge, Ohio. These pieces are from the 1940’s and the design is called “Calico Fruit”. How could we not collect dishes called “Calico Fruit”? These are very heavy pottery pieces that have been enjoyed for years. I’ve listed several pieces on Etsy and will be adding more as time permits. If you see a piece here that’s not yet listed on Etsy, let me know at libertyhomesteadmail@gmail.com and we’ll work it out.

I have long been a collector of vintage pottery, and Shawnee Pottery is one of my favorites. The Mercantile has lots of it! This is a group of Shawnee pieces - vases, pitchers, mugs, and miniatures - all in one of Shawnee's best colors, Powder Blue. These pieces are all great on their own, but even better in a collection!!

This is another little group of treasures from the Liberty Homestead Mercantile. We have a collection of vintage children's items, a doll, a little suitcase, the old cowboy boots, and - what's that?!? It's one of my favorite re-purposed treasures. If you were looking for a focal point in your decorating or a wacky conversation piece, you just found it! Check out these listings in my Etsy shop!

Liberty HOmestead MercantileThis is one of my favorite displays here in the shop. These four little projects are complete kits in the “Sweet Peas & Ivy” collection. I call it the ‘softer side’ of Liberty Homestead. Some of the antique pieces in the photo – antique bottles, jars, and salt & peppers are also listed. These have been all dressed up in antique lace & vintage rhinestone jewelry. If there’s something in the photo you don’t see in my etsy shop, email me and I can help. Liberty Homestead MercantileHere’s a little Easter grouping. Items for sale are the 3 antique chocolate molds and the 2 little vases at the top left. These chocolate molds are very collectible regardless of the style, and are getting very hard to find. These probably date back to the 1920’s or 30’s. Imagine using them in your 30’s kitchen to make chocolate Easter treats for your family! Yum!

I’m sure you’re all familiar with the wonderful quilt themed figurines from Jim Shore for Heartwood Creek. This photo shows 4 of his angels and the incredible Noah’s Ark. These pieces are from his earliest collection and are getting very difficult to find. You can find these on my Etsy with all the details. You won’t be disappointed! Click to visit our Etsy Shop!
