So do I! If we're not at a quilt show coming to your town soon, or if you're unable to visit us here at the mercantile, I invite you to take advantage of our online shopping. Or perhaps you want more of the beautiful hand dyed, sueded cotton you bought at our booth.

You can order Liberty Homestead Quilt Books, Patterns, and Kits, as well as our own Hand Dyed Sueded Cotton right from your home. You'll also find other unusual goodies here at the Mercantile.

We offer secure credit card payments, as well as PayPal, and your order will be quickly shipped to your sewing room. (Unless we're at a quilt show! Check out our show schedule when ordering.) Feel free to email me with any questions you have about my designs or fabrics. I love to get e-mail!

Liberty Homestead Quilt Retreats

At long last, I’m happy to announce that the Liberty Homestead Mercantile and Quilt Retreat is open for business. In the past we’ve talked with many of you about our “future plans” – well, the future is finally here.

The first part of this new venture is the Liberty Homestead Mercantile. This is our quilt & antique store. Check out the Liberty Homestead Mercantile page for current information on the store. You can see by our show schedule that we still are traveling to quilt shows all over the country, which means we’re on the road a lot. If you’re in our neighborhood, give us a call at 816/597-9402 – to make sure we’re home. If we’re here, we’re open for you. Or email if you know ahead of time when you’ll be coming. We’re located about 30 minutes southeast of Kansas City. From I-70 take the Grain Valley Exit #24 – south. Go through Grain Valley and keep driving south for about 10 miles to Hwy 50. Turn left onto Hwy 50 (east) for a few miles to the Lone Jack Exit. Go south again from this exit. This will turn into Hwy E by the high school. Keep on this for another 8 – 10 miles to Strasburg. After the railroad tracks you’ll hit Hwy 58. Turn left (east) onto Hwy 58. We’re exactly 2 miles down the road. You’ll see my yellow & white house – white picket fence – on the right. Go to the next drive to the big yellow & white building – that’s the Liberty Homestead Mercantile. That sounds like a lot of directions, but it’s not hard to find.

The second part of the venture is the Quilt Retreats. Although we have several plans to accomodate your group’s specific wants and needs, our basic weekend retreat package begins on Friday – whenever you want to come – and goes through Sunday afternoon. On Friday we’ll get you settled in, have a light dinner, and get you started making a quilt! Your weekend will be up to you. We can do an organized class or we can keep it very informal. We can all work on the same thing, or we can all do our own thing. I like to play it by ear – you let me know what you like to do. We’ll provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner – coffee, drinks, and snacks are always available – the kitchen’s open 24 hours to help yourself! You’re welcome to bring with you your favorite comfort foods and treats – just remember to bring enough to share! Sunday we’ll do brunch, finish up our projects, and have a show & tell. And don’t forget that right through the screen door is the Liberty Homestead Mercantile – during your weekend you might be able to squeeze in a little extra time for shopping!

The weekend retreat package is priced at $250.00 per person (non-refundable). This will included two night’s lodging and all your meals & snacks. We can welcome around 6 to 8 women in your group. A $50.00 deposit per person is required in advance to reserve your weekend dates, with the balance due 30 days before your arrival. (If you have a smaller group, we can do that with a per person rate adjustment.) We’re here during the week, too, if that works better for your group, or we can also do overnight stays during the week. Overnnight stays will run $125.00 per person. I hope this answers your questions for now – if not, I’m only a phone call or a click away. The “barn” will also be available for guild meetings or other group activities – something to think about! In the meantime I hope you’ll find the time to come out and see us, whether for an afternoon out with your friends or for the weekend. I’ll look forward to seeing you here at The Homestead!

Happy Quilting,
