Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our first annual Christmas Mini Shop Hop. We had a great time with our Vintage Christmas Post Cards, and your food donations certainly made a difference in someone's holiday dinner! Thank you again for your thoughtful efforts and your spirit of giving - it was greatly appreciated.
And now I can announce our plans for the 2012 Mini Shop Hops! We will be continuing our Vintage Fabric Post Card theme right through the new year with four fun holiday mini shop hops. Participating shops in this year's Mini Shop Hops will be The Quilt Stop in Pleasant Hill, Quilter's Harvest in Higginsville, Primitive Stitches in Warrensburg, and the Liberty Homestead Mercantile here in Kingsville. The first of the four will be our "Easter Bunny Hop" - February 17, 18, 20, and 21. Our charity for this hop will be the Women's & Children's Shelter in Warrensburg. We will be building Easter baskets for the children of this shelter and donations can include money (so we can buy items), a stuffed animal, coloring book/colors, or any item that will go with a child's Easter basket. With every donation you will be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate from each shop. That's 4 chances to win!
And wait till you see the Easter Post Cards - you'll want to collect all four! Each shop will be showing a different finished project using these cute little bunny cards, and you'll receive a free pattern for that project with your post card purchase. Make sure you hop on by for a jump into Spring!
The next Mini Hop will be a patriotic theme and will start on Flag Day, June 14. The charity for this Star Spangled event will be Veteran's Homes. In September we'll celebrate two holidays in our fall mini hop - Halloween & Thanksgiving. The Halloween post card charity will be Breast Cancer Awareness, and the Thanksgiving post card charity will be our local Hospice programs. And finally, we'll wrap up the year with our 2nd annual Christmas food pantry drive. Details on all these fun & creative events will be posted as soon as they are available. We're planning all sorts of good stuff - fun new projects, lots of prizes, and worthy causes we all care about. We hope you'll join us!
And don't forget the 2012 Safari Shop Hop! Details for this year's hop are being finalized soon, and I'll post the info here. You can also keep up to date on local happenings by checking out my Facebook. Just look up Liberty Homestead on Facebook, and click on "like". As I post new information, you'll receive an email notifying you of a new posting. You can then check it out anytime that's good for you.
